My studio practice is an extension of my love of the natural sciences; Geological processes and naturally occurring patterns and textures are translated through the hand into sculptural and functional objects meant to enrich everyday experiences. My fascination with the raw materials and their potential
drives my passion for glaze formulation. The pursuit of interesting glaze surfaces, fueled by this curiosity, becomes the heart of making. I strive to create the perfect form to showcase the nature and unique attributes of each individual glaze, as well as engineer functional work that is comfortable and practical to use. My hope is to inspire a similar fascination with the materials and patterns in the user, with special yet humble pots intended for everyday use that will hopefully become regular favorites.
